Welcome to the Fei SUN Group
The Sun Research Group, led by Dr. Fei Sun, focuses on the intersection of synthetic biology, protein engineering, and materials science. Our research aims to develop smart materials and optogenetic tools by leveraging artificial genes to direct microbes to synthesize proteins or protein-like macromolecules. These biomolecules are then assembled into higher-order structures, enabling the creation of novel materials with emergent properties. Our work has applications in materials synthetic biology, chemical engineering, optogenetics, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
